Follow the companies you want. We'll email you only the roles that fit
// the short answer
Save the companies you'd like to work for, upload your resume, and turn on email alerts. Once a day, JOBZERG emails you the new roles those companies posted, but only the ones that score well against your resume and match the job titles and locations you set. No resume means no emails, so nothing irrelevant reaches your inbox. Email alerts are part of the Pro plan.
Job alerts have a reputation problem, and they earned it. Sign up for one and you get a daily wall of "jobs you might like": wrong level, wrong city, wrong field, sometimes the wrong decade. After a week you stop opening them. After two you unsubscribe, and the one role that was actually perfect for you goes by unseen.
We built JOBZERG's email alerts around the opposite idea: your companies, the roles that fit you, nothing else.
How it works
- Save the companies you want. Browse the company directory, open the employers you would genuinely work for, and save them. That list is your watchlist. Ours is a short list on purpose: we wrote up how to build one that's honest.
- Upload your resume. This is what makes the alerts smart. Every new role is scored against what you have actually done.
- Turn on email alerts. In Account, Notifications, switch on Email watchlist alerts.
From then on, once a day, you get one email with the new roles your saved companies posted, filtered down to the ones that fit. If nothing fits, there's no email that day.
What "fits" means
A new role makes it into your email only when it passes every check:
- It scores well against your resume. The same JOBZERG score you see in the catalog and on Resume Analysis. Roles that score low against your experience never reach your inbox.
- It matches your job titles, if you listed any. Set the titles you're after in Job Preferences and a role also has to carry one of them.
- It matches where you want to work. Your location and remote-only preferences apply too. Remote roles always pass the location check, since you can do them from anywhere.
No resume, no emails. We'd rather send you nothing than send you noise, so the app reminds you to upload one instead.
Why fit-only alerts change the job hunt
The point of watching companies is timing. When the right role opens, you want to be the prepared applicant on day one, not number four hundred on day four. Fit-only alerts make that possible without the cost of checking:
- You can trust every email. If it arrived, it's worth a look. That's the only kind of alert people keep reading.
- You apply early, with a resume that already fits. The role scored well against your resume before you opened the email, and its keyword breakdown shows exactly what to tune. We explain the scores in what a good ATS score means.
- It works while you're busy. Especially if you're keeping an eye on the market while still employed: the companies you care about are watched every day, and you hear only when it matters.
In the app, too
The same alerts show up in the notifications bell for everyone, on every plan. Email adds the daily digest on top, so you hear about new roles without opening JOBZERG at all. More on the in-app side in your watchlist now tells you when a company posts.
Set it up in three minutes
Create a free account, save the five companies you'd say yes to tomorrow, and upload your resume. Then turn on email alerts with Pro and let the right roles come to you. Fewer applications. More phone calls.
Frequently asked questions
How do I get an email when a company I like posts a job?
Save the company in the JOBZERG directory, upload your resume, and turn on Email watchlist alerts in Account, Notifications. You get a daily email with new roles from your saved companies that fit your resume.
Will I get emailed about every job a company posts?
No. A role is only included when it scores well against your resume, and when it matches the job titles and locations you set in Job Preferences, if you set any. That's the point: fewer, better alerts.
Do I need to upload a resume to get email alerts?
Yes. Relevance is judged by how well each role fits your resume, so without one we don't send anything. The app will remind you to upload one.
How often are watchlist alert emails sent?
Once a day at most, and only when there's at least one new role that fits. Quiet days mean no email.
Are email job alerts free?
In-app watchlist alerts are free on every plan. Daily email alerts are part of the Pro plan.
