Privacy Notice

Last updated: October 23, 2026

This Privacy Notice for JOBZERG ("we," "us," or "our") describes how and why we might access, collect, store, use, and/or share ("process") your personal information when you use our services ("Services"), including when you:

  • Visit our website at jobzerg.com, or any website of ours that links to this Privacy Notice
  • Use JOBZERG. JOBZERG is a job-search application that indexes publicly posted job openings, scores them against your resume, and helps you track your applications.
  • Engage with us in other related ways, including any marketing or events

Questions or concerns? Reading this Privacy Notice will help you understand your privacy rights and choices. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, please do not use our Services. If you still have questions or concerns, reach us through the feedback channels in the app; a dedicated contact address will be published here when it is available.

Summary of key points

What personal information do we process? Account details (email, name), your resume and the job preferences you set, your self-reported application activity, and product-usage analytics.

Do we process any sensitive personal information? We do not request sensitive personal information. Your resume may contain whatever you choose to include — please include only information you are comfortable sharing.

Do we collect any information from third parties? We do not collect personal information about you from third parties. (We index job postings that companies publish publicly; those are about jobs, not about you.)

How do we process your information? To provide the Services — most importantly, analyzing your resume to score job postings against it — plus account administration, product improvement, security, and legal compliance.

In what situations and with which parties do we share personal information? With the service providers that run our infrastructure and features, described below. We do not sell your personal information.

How do we keep your information safe? We have organizational and technical safeguards in place. However, no electronic transmission or storage technology can be guaranteed 100% secure.

What are your rights? Depending on where you live, applicable privacy law may give you rights over your personal information, described below.

1. What information do we collect?

Personal information you disclose to us. We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide when you register, use the Services, or contact us, including:

  • Email addresses
  • Names
  • Passwords (stored by our authentication provider; we never see them in plain text)
  • Resume content — the file you upload and the text extracted from it, which typically includes your work history, education, skills, and contact details
  • Job preferences (such as desired roles, locations, remote preference, and salary range)
  • Application activity you record in the app (which postings you applied to and their outcomes)
  • Companies you save or follow

Sensitive Information. We do not request sensitive personal information (such as health, biometric, or precise geolocation data). Your resume is under your control — include only what you are comfortable sharing.

Payment Data. JOBZERG currently has no paid plans. If and when paid plans launch, payment data will be handled and stored by our payment processor (expected: Polar; see polar.sh/legal/privacy-policy), not by us. This notice will be updated when payments go live.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we automatically collect certain technical and usage information when you use the Services (device and browser type, pages viewed, feature interactions). See "Do we use cookies?" below and our Cookie Policy.

All personal information that you provide to us must be true, complete, and accurate, and you must notify us of any changes.

2. How do we process your information?

  • To provide the core Service: analyzing your resume to compute match and ATS-style scores against job postings, and surfacing roles and companies relevant to you.
  • To facilitate account creation and authentication and otherwise manage user accounts.
  • To notify our team of product activity. When a new account is created, an internal notification (including the account email) is sent to our private team channel on Discord so we can welcome users and monitor the beta.
  • To respond to user inquiries and offer support.
  • To send administrative information, such as changes to our terms and policies.
  • To identify usage trends so we can improve the Services. When you are signed in, product analytics is associated with your account.
  • To protect our Services, including fraud monitoring and prevention.
  • To comply with law.

3. What legal bases do we rely on to process your information?

We only process your personal information when we believe it is necessary and we have a valid legal reason to do so under applicable law.

If you are located in the EU or UK, we may rely on: Consent, Performance of a Contract (providing the resume-scoring and job-tracking Services you signed up for), Legitimate Interests (analyzing how the Services are used so we can improve them, diagnosing problems, preventing fraud), Legal Obligations, and Vital Interests.

If you are located in Canada, we may process your information with your express or implied consent, which you can withdraw at any time. In some exceptional cases we may be legally permitted to process information without consent — for example, fraud prevention or compliance with a subpoena, warrant, or court order.

4. When and with whom do we share your personal information?

We may share your data with third-party vendors, service providers, contractors, or agents ("third parties") who perform services on our behalf and require access to such information to do that work.

The third parties we may share personal information with are as follows:

  • AI and resume-processing services: Google Cloud (resume parsing, keyword extraction, and matching signals)
  • Cloud computing, database, and authentication: Supabase
  • Website hosting and infrastructure: Vercel
  • Product analytics: PostHog and Vercel
  • Internal team notifications: Discord (new-signup notifications to our private team channel)
  • Invoicing and billing (when paid plans launch): Polar

We may also need to share your personal information in the following situation:

  • Business Transfers. We may share or transfer your information in connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business to another company.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with data brokers or advertisers.

5. Do we use cookies and other tracking technologies?

Yes. We use an essential authentication cookie to keep you signed in, and analytics cookies (PostHog) to understand how the product is used. PostHog also records session replays: a reconstruction of clicks, scrolling, and page layout that helps us find bugs and confusing screens. Replays never include what you type (every form field is masked), and your resume details and keyword matches are masked before anything leaves your browser. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Details, including how to control cookies, are in our Cookie Policy.

6. Do we offer artificial intelligence-based products?

In Short: Yes — resume analysis and job matching are AI-powered.

As part of our Services, we offer features powered by artificial intelligence and machine learning (collectively, "AI Products") — including resume parsing, keyword extraction, and scoring job postings against your resume. We provide the AI Products through third-party AI service providers, currently Google. Your resume content is shared with and processed by these providers solely to enable these features. We do not use your resume or personal content to train AI models, and we do not permit our AI service providers to do so.

7. Is your information transferred internationally?

In Short: Our servers are located in the United States; your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States and other countries by us and the third parties described above.

If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or Switzerland, these countries may not have data protection laws as comprehensive as your own. We will take the measures required by applicable law to protect your personal information, including using the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses where required.

8. How long do we keep your information?

We keep your personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes set out in this notice, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. No purpose in this notice requires keeping your personal information longer than the period in which you have an account with us. When there is no ongoing legitimate business need, we will delete or anonymize it — or, if that is not possible, securely isolate it from further processing until deletion is possible. You can delete your uploaded resume from within the app at any time.

9. How do we keep your information safe?

We have implemented appropriate and reasonable technical and organizational security measures designed to protect the personal information we process. However, no electronic transmission or storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. You should only access the Services within a secure environment.

10. Do we collect information from minors?

We do not knowingly collect, solicit data from, or market to children under 18 years of age. By using the Services, you represent that you are at least 18. If you become aware of any data we may have collected from children under 18, please contact us through the channels above.

11. What are your privacy rights?

Depending on your state or country of residence, applicable privacy law may give you rights regarding your personal information — such as the right to request access, correction, deletion, portability, and to object to or restrict processing. You may review, change, or terminate your account at any time.

Withdrawing your consent. If we rely on your consent to process your personal information, you may withdraw it at any time by contacting us. This does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.

Account information. You can review or change your account information in your account settings. Upon a request to terminate your account, we will deactivate or delete your account and information from our active databases; we may retain limited information to prevent fraud, troubleshoot problems, enforce our legal terms, and comply with legal requirements.

If you are located in the EEA or UK and believe we are unlawfully processing your personal information, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

12. Controls for do-not-track features

Most web browsers include a Do-Not-Track ("DNT") feature. No uniform technology standard for recognizing and implementing DNT signals has been finalized, and we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals.

13. Do United States residents have specific privacy rights?

In Short: If you are a resident of certain US states, you may have rights to access, correct, obtain a copy of, or delete your personal information.
